A consortium of Galician companies joins to improve the efficient management of water.

• TRIHSENS will develop a comprehensive solution for real-time monitoring of water for human consumption.
• The system will be validated at the Tambre Drinking Water Treatment Station, owned by the Santiago City Council.

Santiago de Compostela, 26 November 2018. A consortium of Galician companies, formed by SMEs and large companies, has come together with the objective of developing a comprehensive solution for real-time monitoring of water for human consumption, thus ensuring the efficient management and protection of water, a vital resource.

The TRIHSENS project “Development of an efficient sensor for control and alarm systems of trihalomethane precursors in drinking water”, has a total budget of €878,533.30 and is led by Viaqua. Completing the consortium are the companies Syspro Ingeniería S.L., Ayco Internet S.L. and Roca Roibás S.A.U. This consortium will have the collaboration of the AIMEN and Cetaqua Galicia research centres.

The project, part of the CONECTAPEME 2018 programme, has the support of the Regional Government of Galicia through the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) and the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry and is co-financed by ERDF Funds in the framework of Axis 1 of the ERDF Galicia 2014-2020 operational programme.

The innovative system developed within the framework of the project will be validated at the Tambre Drinking Water Treatment Station, owned by Santiago City Council.

TRIHSENS undertakes this project and aligns with the levels of innovation laid down by the new guidelines of EU policies, which encourage the shift towards a management approach that, beyond being merely reactive, is preventive.
